I have a report in Excel using the live connection method with a report in service. I needed to change the name in Power BI, so I made the not so smart move of deleting the report in POwer BI, changing the name in Desktop and then republishing to BI. Of course this broke the Excel report, now with this error on refresh.
I thought I could just change the connection string by creating a temporary new live excel that does refresh, and copy it's connection string over.

However no change. I also looked into undeleting, but we do not have premium which I believe is required for that.
I wonder if anyone could tell me how to get out of this mess.
Solved! Go to Solution.
You need to copy the actual connection string, not (only) the connection name.
