Power BI Gantt Milestones and Task bar on same row. (Task bar disappears when adding milestones)

In the Microsft published Gantt visual, I want to place the milestones on the same row as the task bar since our milestones are a part of that our tasks.

But as soon as I add the milestones, they replace the tasks themselves. Which is not my goal.

My goal is for it to look like in this post.

Custom Gantt Milestones- remove vertical lines - Microsoft Fabric Community

This post suggest that you have to place the milestones in the same column as tasks and on seperate rows with their own indexing. But my data isn't build in that structure and my collegues are not interested in changing the source data strucutre.
Solved: Gantt Chart 2.2.0 milestones - Microsoft Fabric Community

There must be some better way?

I currently have 1 task coulmn, 1 start and end date column for said task, and one seperate coulmn for the milestone date occuring during the task.

Hi @MrMatsson ,

Thank you  for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

I would also take a moment to thank @rajendraongole1 , for actively participating in the community forum and for the solutions you’ve been sharing in the community forum. Your contributions make a real difference.

As said by @rajendraongole1 ,the  Gantt visual  doesn’t support showing tasks and milestones on the same row it replaces the task when a milestone is added. As an alternative, you can use the Deneb visual from AppSource, which supports layering both task bars and milestone markers. With Deneb, you can use your current data structure (Task Name, Start Date, End Date, Milestone Date) without reshaping. Simply install Deneb, choose Vega-Lite, paste a custom JSON template, and assign your fields. This will show the task as a bar and the milestone as a red diamond on the same row.

If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.

Hi @MrMatsson  -  Gantt visual in Power BI, it doesn't support displaying milestones (common limitation) on the same row as their corresponding tasks unless they’re structured as individual entries with their own row-level control.
